Audiologist II

The Department of Ambulatory Care Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Audiologist II.

The Doctor of Audiology is a professional who diagnoses, treats and manages individuals with hearing loss or balance problems. Our Audiologist will collaborate with physicians, and other medical professionals for medical and surgical evaluation or treatments as needed. The successful candidate will:

• Obtain patient accurate medical history.
• Conduct routine and specialized auditory and vestibular assessment and record presence of disease or abnormality.
• Utilize behavioral and electrophysiological measures for diagnostic testing.
• Accurately analyze and interpret results of diagnostic testing and make appropriate recommendations for treatment, referrals and rehabilitation.
• Assess the patient's candidacy for amplification cases.
• Dispense, fit and troubleshoot hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree from an accredited school of Audiology.
• New York State Audiologist Licensure.
• 1+ years of current experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred.
